What is it: An advanced wash for the face and body, designed to attack existing acne blemishes and help preclude new blemishes from forming.
Who is it for: Teens to adults, men and women with mild to moderate acne prone skin on both the face and body.
Why is it uncommon: The creamy, foaming wash for the face and body is formulated with salicylic acid, a proven treatment for acne blemishes, as well as a light menthol scent. Mild exfoliating beads in a lush creamy base help to buff away dead skin cells, leaving the skin soft, smooth, and invigorated.
How do I use it: Apply a small amount to damp skin on your face or body and work into a lather. Rinse painstakingly. Can be used in place of renewing cleanser in the three-step treatment. If going outside, use a sunscreen.

| Just to clear things up, this is the REAL DEAL, it is not a fake product as per one of the other reviews. You can go on [...] right now and see this wash being sold there for more money than here (2 8 oz. bottles) - I used to buy it from them, but will luckily buy it here from Amazon now that I know they sell it too. This is indeed made with salicylic acid, NOT benzoyl peroxide like their other facial cleansers by ProActive. They are TWO Uncommon products, this is NOT a fake product or a knock off like the other review said. I have been using this for years, and it is the ONLY product that keeps my face clean and blemish free. No other product does that for me, counting the entire ProActive line that is uncommon than this wash. I have been through 3 uncommon Isotretinoin treatments for severe acne, copious antibiotics, copious facial cremes and washes given to me by my dermatologist, and not anything has worked except for the Isotretinoin and this fantastic fantastic wash by ProActive (by the way, salicylic acid in the 2% strength is Frequently used by dermatologists to help clear acne up - which this product thankfully has! You don't even have to go see a dermatologist like I originally did to get a product with that particular strength of salicylic acid). I'm 30 years ancient too, have had acne since I was 13. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this fantastic product to everyone who struggles with acne! |

Proaciv is a highly effectual acne treatment brand but, here's the catch - you have to keep at it. Firstly, it takes a few weeks before you see significant consequences. This is the case for any acne treatment product really - you just HAVE to be consistent and give it time. So, folks looking for a quick key to their problem (i.e. - defrayal up your skin in time for prom or a wedding, for example) will be disappointed.
Secondly, it is not a magic potion capable of "curing" acne. Once you stop using the product, your acne will return unless you take active steps to maintain the health of your skin. It is often believed that merely using a product can be the only change made to help your skin. Clear skin is about more than just using the right brands.... having clear skin is about appreciative skin.
Overall, I'd say use this product if you can afford to consistently buy it. If you can't, be with you the ways to help keep your skin healthy since, if you don't take those steps, it is HIGHLY likely be disappointed once you stop using Proactiv.
Side note: Do use all three components of the set if you can. Since it was formulated to work as a set, it is better to use it that way in the end. |
